Position overview

We are looking for the talented Senior WordPress Developers to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including developing WordPress themes and plugins. Overseeing and executing the development, customization, and maintenance of WordPress-based websites. With an in-depth understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, the senior developer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to translate client requirements into robust, scalable, and visually appealing WordPress solutions. This role involves not only the implementation of complex features but also the optimization of existing code, troubleshooting, and staying abreast of industry trends to ensure the continuous enhancement of web experiences. Additionally, the senior WordPress developer will be responsible for mentoring junior developers, providing technical guidance, and contributing to the overall improvement of development processes. Strong communication skills and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest WordPress advancements are essential in this position.

Key responsibilities

  • Website development: Develop, and maintain WordPress websites. This includes creating custom themes, plugins, and features to meet client requirements.
  • Theme customization: Customize existing WordPress themes or create custom themes from scratch to match the client’s branding and design specifications.
  • Form setup: Skilled in setting up forms using plugins or manual configuration, including mail integration, database handling, and implementing bot checks
  • Responsive design: Ensure that websites are responsive and work well on various devices and browsers, including desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.
  • Security: Implement security best practices to protect websites from vulnerabilities and potential threats
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to website functionality, performance, or security.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with clients, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Plugin development: Develop and customize plugins to enhance website functionality. This may involve both front-end and back-end development.
  • Updates and maintenance: Keep websites up-to-date by applying WordPress core updates, theme updates, and plugin updates. Perform regular backups and maintenance tasks.
  • Landing page development: Expertise in crafting various types of performance-optimized, responsive landing pages, including CMS-based and HTML landing pages, ensuring seamless functionality and integration with thank-you pages.
  • Emailer: Creating responsive Emailers that work well on various email service platforms.
  • Architectural design: Senior developers often play a key role in designing the overall architecture of WordPress projects. You make decisions on the structure of the website, the choice of themes and plugins, and how various components will interact.
  • Hosting: Proficient in creating and hosting websites in environments like cPanel, AWS, MS Azure, Google Cloud, etc.-

Mandatory skills

  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Understanding of PHP, the server-side scripting language that powers WordPress.
  • Knowledge of MySQL or other database systems used by WordPress.
  • Proven experience in building responsive user interfaces for websites and web applications.
  • Proficiency in debugging tools such as Firebug, Chrome Inspector, etc.
